Pie de Limón, a delicacy in Peru (and many other countries), is a special treat made of 3 layers: a pastry topped with a sweet + tangy lemon curdy filling, and topped with a whipped fluffy meringue topping. The meringue is then lightly toasted on top with a blowtorch. As part of the pillbox series, this pie was created with Mexican air dry clay, sanded and handpainted. The dollop of whip cream comes off to reveal a hidden compartment underneath. Perfect storage for your nightly pills (or drugs, jewelry!) Pie de Limón pillbox measures 5.5” X 3.5” and chills comfortably on your kitchen table, nightstand, desk, bookshelf, coffee table, or any flat surface to keep you company. It is heavy! So it also can work as a paperweight.
